About mYak
A natural fiber unique in the world, born in one of the world’s most extreme locations, and made with Italian artisanal quality, this is mYak: Born in Tibet, crafted in Italy. 100% traceable, we purchase our wools directly from nomadic Tibetan herders improving significantly their life condition. Our products are crafted from the soft undercoats of baby yaks, cashmere goats, and sheep raised in the high pastures of the Tibetan Plateau at an altitude above 4,000 feet. The young yaks are hand-combed in the spring to collect the highest quality fibers before they are naturally shed, with no harm to the animals. We source the fiber from the family of herders we work with but do all the spinning and weaving in Italy, putting together the strength of the plateau with the exquisite craftsmanship of Italy.
